Abstract

The multiway two part connector is for watertight connections between a portable module and a fixed power supply. The two parts of each connector mute together face to face and electrical contact is maintained by spring pressure on the contacts. A single pin (43) and socket on mating parts serves to align the two halves and to actuate a switch in the body of the live plug or socket and thus isolate exposed contacts when the connection is broken. The fixed and free parts of the connectors are bolted together by either a central screw or by two screws at the outsides (49).
