Abstract

The mechanical switch provides the flashing effect for right and left turn indicator lamps used on two wheeled vehicles. The flashing effect is initiated and energised by the normal vibration and shock experienced by such vehicles due to the nature of the road surfaces. The switch consists of a cylindrical roller or sphere moving freely within a track and making contact with the conducting metal housing of the switch and a sprung contact. The contacts are connected via the left/right selector circuit of the vehicle to the battery. The battery may be that normally required with small motorised cycles or may be a separate dry battery.
