Abstract

The safety support for the curved support (1) of a horse jump bar consists of an elastic block (7) which yields under the action of a vertical force. It slides vertically in a support (11) with two pins (14) which fit into holes (15) in the upright (16). The curved support is articulated to the block so that it can oscillate perpendicular to the bar. It has two parallel branches (5,6) of unequal lengths. The longest (5) fits into a hole (10) in the block and the shorter (6) is held in a deep V-shaped groove (8) in its base.
