Abstract

The fence is used as an obstacle in horse jumping trials and has uprights made from a plastic outer envelope filled with a rigid plastic foam. These uprights fit into sockets provided in separate metal bases. Each upright has holes along its vertical axis, these being lined with plastic bushes. The holes are used to locate the holders for the horizontal bars, also a foam filled plastic construction. These bars rest freely in the holders and a shear pin releases the holder pivot to drop the bar when knocked.
