Abstract

The swing door for the exterior of vehicles has an offsett rotation pillar that carries one top and two bottom pivoting arms. The rotation pillar (8) is offset from the edge of the vehicle and extends through and is fixed securely to the underside of the coachwork decking. The pivoting arms (11, 16) are attached to the centre and edge of the door (4) by brackets (15, 17) so that they carry the door and when rotated move the whole door away from and then back to the side of the vehicle.
