Abstract

The working surface for a fitted kitchen is made, for instance of a chipboard panel with cladding and incorporates kitchen equiment, such as a cooker hob or sink, counter sunk into a hole in the panel. A hard, rigid frame (14) is fixed to the side of the hole (2) and extends inside it. The frame (14) has a joint-piece (13) facing upwards towards the top of the working surface (1). A support (15) extends from the top of the working surface downwards. The joint part (13) fills the space between the side of the hole and the rim of the kitchen equipment. The support (15) has a support surface (16) facing upwards and fomrs a peripheral groove (18) together with the inner side surface (17) of the join piece.
