Abstract

The instrument moistens the adhesive surfaces of stamps or envelopes. It comprises a spherical ball (7) indirectly spring-loaded (2) against an opening of smaller diameter in the end of a plastic tube (6) filled with water (5), and similar to a stylo pen. The ball protrudes part-way from the tube. The design provides an efficient and hygienic means of sticking down stamps and envelope flaps, particularly where large numbers are involved.
