Abstract

A sports shoe sole is covered with a layer of material of 25-35 degrees Shore hardness 5-7 mm thick and perforated with several (pref. 8 to 11) holes of 20-30 mm diam. For use on frozen or icy surfaces, to enhance grip for e.g. running, playing football etc. The sole may be lined with one or two layers of relatively soft material. Opt. the external sole is superficially rough, may be made from a blend of microporous rubbers or of rubber and EVA copolymer.
