Abstract

Pesticidal compsns. comprise (a) one or more water-insoluble pesticides, (b) a nonionic surfactant in which the lipophilic gp. comprises an aromatic ring substd. by one or more aryl or aralkyl gps., (c) a water-soluble thickener, and (d) H2O. The surfactant is pref. a cpd. of formula (I): (where R1 is a (R2)n-substd. phenyl, benzyl or alpha-methylbenzyl gp.; R2 is 1-4C alkyl; R is 2-4C alkylene; m =1-3; n=0-2; x=8-40). The compsns. pref. contain 10-60wt.% of (a), 2-15wt.% of (b) and 0.01-3wt.% of (c). They can be prepd. by dissolving (b) in H2O, adding (a), and then adding (c), opt. as an aq. soln. The compsns. can readily be adjusted to the desired viscosity (300-700 cP), are resistant to phase sepn. during prolonged storage, and do not coagulate when diluted with H2O.
