Abstract
The power supply is for a number of elementary microwave power sources such as klystrons or magnetrons connected to provide a power which is the sum of their individual powers minimises the interaction between the sources by energising each source out of phase with the remaining sources. For two sources together this can be effected by energising one on each positive half cycle of a single phase mains supply and the other on each negative half cycle, inverted where necessary. The half cycles are obtd. by rectification with or without a voltage doubler. Multiphase supply can be used to power more than two sources and where the half cycle power pulses for one source overlap those of another source the latter has its waveguide at 90 deg. to the first.
