Abstract

The cigarette lighter includes a reservoir of lighter fluid and spark generator arranged in the conventional way, with a hinged cover (2) fitting over the flame jet and operating button (3, 4). Inside the body of the lighter is an electronic control circuit associated with two digital displays. One digital display may be set to show a particular time interval up to 99 minutes whilst the other counts through this time interval. When the lighter is operated, the timer starts counting, and while it is counting the lighter is automatically made inoperative. The lighter may not be operated again until the set period of time has elapsed. The device is intended to help a smoker moderate the number of cigarettes used, preventing him smoking more than one cigarette in the set interval of time.
