Abstract

The base of the frame (1) has surface regulating top (2) on the top surface of which is a thin three layer sandwich (4) of compressible and permeable materials. The decorative elements (12) are placed on this layer between frames (11) and a first bed of grout (14) is cast around them and allowed to dry for some time. Reinforcement (18) is placed and the second layer (16) of concrete is cast. The cast flag stone is subject to pressure while it dries and on removal from the mould its dressed face is washed to remove any grout from the decorative elements.
