Abstract

The electrical cable connector comprises two substantially solid opposing half-cylindrical housing parts (2, 2'). Each housing part has two parallel slots (20, 20') extending transversely of the part with a pair of semi-cylindrical metal plates (16) loosely received in each pair of opposing slots. The facing edges of each pair of plates are serrated to pierce the insulation of two spaced cables laid lengthwise between the two parts and gripped by the serrated edges when the two parts are drawn together by a nut and bolt (10) passing through the centre of the two parts. The plates are able to rock about respective axes parallel to the cables and housing axes to compensate for variations in cable thickness and apply the same gripping force to each cable.
