Abstract

Threonone oroto-glutamate modified and solubilised by reaction with N-methyl glucamine (I) is useful as food additive. (I) may be given in the feed or drinking water, usually at a dosage of 10-200 mg/kg/day. For larger animals the dosage is 15-20 mg/kg/day, and for smaller animals it is 75-200 mg/kg/day. (I) increases the rate of growth of meat animals such as cattle, sheep, chickens, rabbits and fish.
