Abstract

New catalysts comprises (a) 100 pts. wt. of an alumina support, (b) 0.05-0.6 (pref. 0.1-0.5) pts. wt. of a Pt-group metal, nc) 0.01-4 (pref. 0.1-0.3) pts. wt. of W, (d) either 0.05-0.8(pref. 0.1-0.5) pts. wt. of Se or 0.005-5 (pref. 0.05-3) pts. wt. of Bi, and (e) 0.1-10 pts. wt. halogen. The catalysts are esp. useful for reforming naphtha fractions to produce high-octane gasoline (RON>=102), or for atomizing cracked gasolines or reformates to produce BTX. They have higher activity and esp. higher stability than prior art catalysts, esp. when used in mobile-bed-systems.
