Abstract

Furnace with inclined hearth and horizontal arch incorporates heating flues, and regenerator cells. the heating flues are arranged in a row between the furnace chambers and joined in pairs connected by a reversing channel situated at their top. the regenerator cells contain a packing and are vertical and placed under the chamber each communicating only with one flue of a pair by a channel opening into the flue hearth and end points stepped over the height of the flue. Gas feed pipes open into the flues. the means of controlling the feed of gas and air into the flues are independent for each pair or group of flues. The regeneration cells are of variable section according to the flue with which they correspond. They are all provided with packing to the same height. Furnace ensures a better distribution of the temperatures in the masonry around and below the chamber than existing furnaces. It allows easy regulation of the horizontal and vertical distribution of the heating of the chamber.
