Abstract

A linear servo system utilises a feedback amplifier to reduce noise and non linearity distortion. By reinjecting a proportion of the output signal to act as a new error signal, the system provides the necessary error correction. A servo system comprises a direct path (10) and a return path (11) for an error signal (E) applied at the input (12) to produce an output signal (5). The proportion of the output which is fed back is obtained by a separator (14) for application to the input via a mixer (15). A correction path (2) extracts a fraction of the new error signal (E1) via a separator (22). The output of this path is applied to the output signal via a mixer (23) and a part is fed back to a mixer (25) at the correction input.
