Abstract

A feed gripper for weaving machines with extraction of the weft thread (S) from fixed bobbins has a clamping tongue (8) which forms part of a nip (22) for the weft thread (S). Screwed to the underside of the clamping tongue is a leaf spring (26), the tip of which projects into the entry funnel of the nip (22) and thereby forms a stop element for deflecting the end piece of the weft thread between the nip (22) and the end of the weft thread (S). By means of the leaf spring (26), the end piece of the weft thread (S) is bent and a braking effect is thereby exerted on the latter, so that even very thin and smooth weft threads can be clamped reliably.
