Abstract

The dish and cover rate both of a triple walled (1, 3, 9) cavity (4, 11) construction, have interhousing edge details (8, 28). They are used as a unit to contain and maintain the temp. of food. The inner and outer cavities are both sealed by e.g. continuous perimeter welds, the former (11) being filled with a material (12) of which the latent fusion heat and the fusion temp. are 20 Kcal/5g and 60 to 75 deg.C respectively. A vacuum may be created in the outer cavity (4), or a thermally insulating filler may be used. The material (12) may be paraffin with a fusion temp. of approx. 65 deg., and the walls may all be of non metallic material. Alternatively the inner wall along (9) may be of metal.
