Abstract

The endless chain and wheel transmission system permits an orthogonal relationship between the input and transition wheel axles and permits common or intersecting alignments of input and output wheels. The latter wheels have a grooved rim with teeth cut in each of the two resulting radial faces, and the intermediate or transition wheels comprise twin gap centred co-axial discs of which the edges are connected by rollers at regular intervals. The chain links provide for inter-articulation about two perpendicular transverse axles, each with a cruciform shape. One bar of the cross is formed by a transverse axle with dome nosed idling rollers on each end, locating two interspaced eyelet straps which project in opposite longitudinal directions. A perpendicular transverse axle pin connects the eyelets of succeeding links.
