Abstract

The lorry has driven multi-axle wheel sets (1) each having one or more adjacent wheels with pneumatic tyres (2). Each wheel set has an endless flat belt (4) running around the tyre treads of the wheels of the different axles. The belt has an upward ridge (5) which is clamped between the tyre walls of the load bearing portions of adjacent wheels. The belt may have projections (6) on the outside. The ends of the belt may be releasably connected by a transverse rod inserted through alternating sets of eyes at each belt end. The ridge may have a wedge profile.
