Abstract

The pylon is raised by a winch and pulley pulling out all the central elements from the outside base element. The central elements move together until they have cleared the base element at which point the next in turn forms the outside sleeve and so on. In the diagram two inside elements (1a, 1b) are moving up together within the base element (1) and lock plate (9) rests on a roller (13) assisting the winch wire. when the rocking arm (23) strikes another roller (12) it moves a lock plate to the right freeing section (1b) to rise further and stopping (1a) from falling. The lock plate (9) now rests on top of roller (12).
