Abstract

The recuperator comprises a cylindrical body (5) which is fitted around the flue pipe (4) of the central heating boiler (1) before it enters the chimney (2). This provides a water jacket and is connected into the hot water outlet (3) from the boiler. The length of contact area with the flue pipe can be extended by equipping the pipe with straight or spiral finning, which also has the advantage of reducing the rate of circulation. After picking up the additional heat from the flue pipe, the hot water is conveyed (6) to the central heating installation.
