Abstract

The disposable fuel transfer cask consists of a cylindrical concrete pot open at the top, in whose wall reinforcements have been cast and whose interior can be lined with concrete above the inserted waste drum, so that a concrete plug is formed above the drum. It is the aim of the invention to improve or reconfigure known casks in such a way that they can be manufactured simply and without large additional costs as B casks, and that, in addition, the seal over the drum is substantially simplified and improved. This aim is achieved by cementing into the wall of the concrete pot (1) at the level of the plug tubes (7 to 10) which extend radially over the drum, two tubes (8, 10 and 7, 9) opposite one another being respectively arranged at a different level (11) and by plugging through the tubes tensioners (5, 6) which can be cast with the concrete plug. Steel fabric mats (12) can be laid between the tensioners.
