L'invention se rapporte à la photographie. Elle concerne notamment des cristaux hybrides d'halogénures d'argent ayant des compositions différentes d'halogénures d'argent pour les coins et pour le corps, caractérisés en ce qu'ils sont produits par les étapes selon lesquelles : on forme des cristaux tétradécaédriques par précipitation équilibrée à double d'un premier halogénure d'argent à une température de 35-50 degrés C et à un pAg de 8 environ à 9 environ en utilisant un moyen fournissant une agitation intense, et on précipite ensuite un deuxième halogénure d'argent par précipitation equilibrée à double jet à une température de 35-50 degrés C et à un pAg de 6 environ à 8 environ; de manière que l'addition du deuxième halogénure d'argent se produise de façon préférentielle sur les face 111 des cristaux tétraédriques, avec le résultat que des cristaux cubiques sont formés.
