Abstract

The attachment is pulled behind a tractor and comprises a chassis (5) holding a tilling tool (1). This is a horizontal shaft (2) with blades (4) mounted on discs (3). Over it is a protective cover (16) which also acts as a mounting for a bank of steam nozzles (15). These are supplied through a pipe (13) connected (12) to a boiler, a branch pipe (14) also passing downwards and entering the soil (18). This pipe terminates in a box (19) under the tilling tool and has rearwards facing nozzles (22). A sheet of plastic film (28) is unrolled (27) continuously to prevent the steam escaping.
