Abstract

In order to permit container filling levels to be detected in a very precise manner, an oscillatory structure is used which is composed of two oscillating elements (1, 2; 4, 5) which are arranged one above the other and/or cover sections which are coaxial with and at least partially at a distance from one another, the said elements being designed as rotary oscillators which have the same natural oscillation and being excited so as to oscillate in the opposite direction of rotation to determine the filling level, only one oscillatory element (2) coming into direct contact with the material contained in the container. This has the advantage that there is no transmission of oscillatory energy to the walls (100) of the container, so that the quality of measurement is increased.
