Abstract

The precasting process produces concrete fence posts and entails the casting, striking and curing of a post or batch of posts on a tray. After striking, th trays are stacked complete with posts in prepn. for curing. Stacked trays maintain a vertical interval which equals or exceeds the psot thickness, and which is conclusive to efficient steam curing. They have a shallow inverted 'U' section with short square internal flange returns. A travelling gantry crane may move cast post along a prodn. line which extends between casting and finishing stations.
