Abstract

Pipe consists of metal tube provided with >=1 connectors, each of the latter possessing an axis which is aligned at 90 degrees w.r.t. axis of the metal tube. Each connector is welded to the tube round a hole which is surrounded by a flattened zone of the tube. Flattened zone is pref. rectangular in shape, and connectors pref. do not project into bore of the tube. Set of press tools is pref. employed in a single operation to form >=1 flat zones on the tube, each contg. a hole. It is very difficult to weld a connector onto a round tube, so invention provides flat zone on the tube where connectors are to fixed.
