Abstract

The paper feed device includes two support plates (1) with notches (2, 3) to ensure accurate alignment with the printer or typewriter. A gear housing (4) is mounted between the two support plates. A transformer (5) is connected to a supply block (6), which in turn feeds a motor (7) via electronic circuitry (8). A slot (9) for the introduction of paper comprises a fixed part and a movable part (9a, 9b), the latter being able to slide across the paper feed device according to the width of the paper used. In the fixed part of the slot (9a) is an assembly of three detection cells mounted in a box (10). In the two parts of the slot there are pressure springs pushing the paper against the cells, without creating friction impeding the insertion or removal of a document. Rollers (11, 12) control the movement of the paper in front of the printing head.
