Abstract
The flux has a basicity index of 1.2-2, and contains 0.15-0.4 wt.% B2O3, and also 20-46% of rutile plus alumina used according to claim 8 of the main patent. A solid welding wire is used contg. 0.1-0.4% Ti. The flux pref. contains 35-45%, esp. 39-42% rutile plus alumina. The flux is pref. used in the pre-melted condition; for the welding of pipelines at high speed via several electrodes, where welding speeds up to 3 m./min. can be used. High impact toughness at sub-zero temps. can be obtd. in the welds. It is used esp. for welding pipelines.
