Abstract

The sections of a mould which move vertically relatively to each other so that the part cavities of the one section are located above those of the other by an amount which corresponds at least to the height of the cavities, operate in an installation for the simultaneous labelling of containers produced by heat-forming thermoplastic sheet material. The mould sections move vertically from the forming into the ejecting position, and a device for transferring at least one label is positioned on each side of the central path, and is aligned to the inner wall of each part-cavity. A very large number of part cavities can be provided with labels simultaneously without the containers having to move through the space vacated by the mould sections. The mould cavities are immediately available for labelling and the motion of the transferring device is straight, vertical to the mould cavity surface and more or less parallel to the band of thermoplastic. Moulds with a double row of cavities may be used, and lost time is reduced to the absolute min.
