Abstract

The parent patent described an adaptor for coupling a rotary fitting to a tap. This addition described a different pattern of joint to go between a tap spout and a rotary adaptor to accept a threaded coupling, e.g. for a hose, which involves use of a split annular profile having a conic section with a radiused crest and base. Pref. the profile is made of a low friction material, specifically PTFE. The joint may be supported axially by an annular sleeve which may be made of Delrin (RTM-polyacetal), nylon or hostaform (RTM). The joint is easier to assemble or dismantle than the corresponding joint described in the basic patent.
