Abstract

The system is used for monitoring movement along a crack or fissure in a building wall. Movement is checked by attaching plates either side with markings which move relative to one another to indicate movement of the fissure. A plate (12) is attached (16) to the side of fissure in piece of furniture. A second plate is similarly attached on the other side of the fissure such that scale (22) graduations align with an indicator line on the first plate. Chamfered cut out (18) in the sides of each plate allow them to be fixed together by winding tape around them.
