Abstract

New galenic form of trinitroglycerin for percutaneous application comprises a pliable support film covered by a layer of a microporous polymer having a lacuneous structure in which the lacuna are occupied by the trinitroglycerin. The support is applied to the skin so as to allow the trinitroglycerin to diffuse across the micropores, diffuse from the polymer and penetrate the epidermis. The new galenic form allows a prolonged effect. Activity tests are described. Pref. microporous polymer is cellulose triacetate in the form of a film, microchips or fibres. The polymer is pref. deacidified and contains 0.1- 5 mg. pref. 0.5-1 mg of trinitroglycerin per cm2 of active surface.
