Abstract

The system combines several audio-visual media in a dialogue process which is more elaborate than those currently used. The process analyses user responses in the content of previous responses and by comparison with models held in stored programmes. Results of analyses result in execution of sub-routines characterised by their contents and form. The user communicates with the system to input data for treatment via an alpha-numeric keyboard. A central processor controls the various display media e.g. slides, tape, video according to a main programme sequence and following various interrupt commands which may be user initiated. The processor calls on a response memory and a comparison model memory to determined its subsequent action, e.g. to initiate an alternative audio-visual presentation.
