Abstract

The ducts of rectangular cross-section used in air-conditioning systems, are supported by beams and tie rods. The duct (1) is supported on a beam (8) of U-section with turned-in flanges folded from sheet metal. The beam is supported at each end by short lengths of channel section (3) which slide inside the main beam. These smaller channel sections are in turn supported by the tie rods (2, 2') and lock nuts (5, 5'; 4, 4'), which facilitate adjustment of the height of the duct.
