Abstract

The cardiac stimulator includes a circuit connected to electrodes to amplify and shape the detected auricular signals. This circuit drives a delay circuit, for example a monostable which has a delay of 200ms. This operates a power circuit through a conductor, which sends a stimulation pulse to a further electrode. If the heart is not to be stimulated unnecessarily, a further electrode is added. A delay circuit similar to the first delay circuit opens a switch for a period of 200ms. If within the 200 ms of the auricular signal detection, a ventricular signal is detected, the first relay (7) does not operate the power circuit to send a pulse. In a variation of this circuit, the frequency of the pulses controls the stimulating pulses. If the frequency is below 80 pulses per min. then the device is inactive.
