Abstract
A device for space heating having a heat pump unit with compressor attached to a cooling circuit taking up heat from an external cold source and which delivers warm air to the room space to be heated. The heat pump, has the evaporator (11) connected to a cold source with only small temperature variations, and a compressor (7) with free floating pistons which is directly driven by a linear electromotor such that the natural frequency determining parameters such as piston diameter, magnetic core diameter, spring tension. Mass of a moving attachment, are so chosen that the system operates at resonant frequency under the conditions of heat addition.
