Abstract

L'invention concerne la médecine humaine et vétérinaire. Elle a pour objet un procédé pour faire baisser la concentration en lipides du sang, suivant lequel on administre au patient un gel de silice en quantité efficace pour faire baisser la teneur en lipides. En particulier, le gel de silice est un hydrogel de silice qui a une teneur en eau d'au moins 50 % en poids et par préférence de 55 à 75 % en poids. Cet hydrogel de silice a un pH de 8 à 10. Il est avantageusement présenté sous forme de composition avec un véhicule généralement quelconque ou sous la forme d'un aliment médicamenteux. Cet agent thérapeutique est préféré pour réprimer la lipémie sans exercer d'effet cardiovasculaire indésirable.
