Abstract

The adaptive filter reduces the noise signals in radio appliances used for recording and reproducing sound. The filter consists of a series connection of an algebraic summing unit to shape a control signal, a weighted filter to convert the signal spectrum, a minimum noise limiter, and a frequency corrector. One input of the summing unit is connected to the input of a controlled filter, and its second input goes to the output of the controlled filter. The output signal of the frequency corrector is passed to the input of an amplitude demodulator. This enables the pass band of such radio applications to be controlled as a function of the terminal frequencies of the useful components of the input signal.
