Abstract

The recorder has an h.f. converter which changes the reproduced signal frequency toone which can be applied to a t.v receiver for the recorded picture reproduction. The video recorder (10) has a circuit (15) generating an artificial video signal for discrimination, with either a vertical or a horizontal synchronisation signal. The signal has a white j component and is applied through an h.f. converter to the t. v. receiver for discrimination. The artificial video signal picture is reproduced on the receiver screen for discrimination. The h.f. converter tests the channels and sets the tuner to a free channel.
