Abstract
The pivot axis about which the fuel element container is pivoted is located at the centre of gravity of the container and is at less than one-half the container height above the track on which the trolley runs. Pref., a stationary drive mounted alongside the track is used for tilting the vessel from the horizontal to the vertical posn. and is combined with a locking mechanism which permits the rocker carrying the vessel to be tilted only in certain posns. of the trolley. Used espec. for the handling of heavy containers, exceeding 100 tons, contg. spent fuel elements.
