Abstract

The disposable filter contains a housing top piece and a housing bottom piece (1 and 2 respectively), between which is enclosed a filter element (3). The housing pieces are furnished with outer flanges (7, 8) round which is cast a closure ring (9), which ensures a mechanically strong joint, sealed even at high working pressures. At least one of the two housing parts is composed of clear plastic which permits visual observation of the inserted filter element and the filtering. In addition, the closure ring is composed of a coloured plastic, the colour used being usable as a code for the characteristic data, for example the pore size, the membrane material, the sterility state etc. of the filter.
