Abstract

The car has a metal frame fitted with four wheels and carrying a row of tranverse profiles with an L-shaped cross-section. One edge of profiles forms a bed for tubular holders carrying vertical posts. Each post consists of a thin tube filled with heat resisting material or a metal core, so the posts have high resistance to thermal shock. The perimeter of the car is fitted with similar posts contg. a metal core; and all the posts possess an outer shell made esp. of ceramic fibres mixed with a binder. The top surfaces of posts are used with ceramic plates to make a platform carrying tiles or other ceramic workpieces through the kiln. The frame and the lower parts of the car are covered with thermal insulation. All the metal parts of the car are covered with ceramic fibres or similar materials providing high resistance to thermal shock and long working life.
