Abstract

A number of pneumatic circuits are supplied with compressed air from a single compressor (2). The supply to each circuit is controlled by a spring loaded diaphragm valve with three separate outlets for the different circuits. If there is a failure in any of these circuits which causes a sudden pressure drop, the diaphragm valve shuts off the connections to all the circuits. A small orifice forming a by-pass (27, 28) enables a reduced flow to reach the circuits which are still functioning normally. There is also a leak to the defective circuit but this is within the capacity of the compressor.
