Abstract

The tipper truck has its tipping mechanism actuated by a telescopic hydraulic jack. A cylinder is mounted on a trunnion fixed to the vehicle chassis. The piston of the cylinder forms the cylinder of the next piston and so on to the final position which is attached to the tipping skip. Each piston has a guide ring at each end of plastics which also serves as a hydraulic seal and as a shock absorber as each piston reaches the end of the travel permitted by the respective cylinder.
