Abstract

The inflatable sail is mounted on a rotating member (23) fitted to a circular base. This is mounted on a vertical trunnion fitted in the deck. The sail is made from a number of segments joined together and connecting internally. The sail is supported by guys (27) anchored to a bracket on the circular rail. The volume is controlled by remotely actuated valves and the sail segments are covered by an inelastic skin to retain the shape.
