Abstract

Clamp for coupling rods for external splints for setting broken bones are made from split cubes drilled so that two screws suffice to clamp rods intersecting in a two- or three-dimensional array. Pref. the clamps are made of PMMA so that the clamp body are transparent to X-rays which may be used to study the bones located within the system of clamped splints. Pref. the clamps are cubes divided along a plane of symmetry so tht the clamp faces can be (a) rotated, (b) locked by tightening a single belt. The clamps may also be used to clamp frames for osteopathic traction or compression treatments.
