Abstract

The external skeletal fixing device is for the treatment of bone fractures and osteotomies. It allows progressive microalignment under control of the fracture extremeties. There may be an articulation system controlled progressively by a single or multiple positioning mechanism, e.g. with a ball-and-socket joint. Micrometer screews can be provided to control articulation movements individually and in different planes.
